In early 2012 at age 36, Sheryl Beck Nelson was faced with the daunting task of rebuilding her life after the sudden death of her husband, Rich Beck. Leaning only on faith, family and friends, Sheryl took one day at a time. With the comfort and restoration only God can bring, she and her son, Mathew who was just 11-years-old at the time, not only found themselves surviving, but thriving.
Although Bruised but Not Broken recounts Sheryl’s personal story of losing her first husband and her process of restoration, the book is excellent for anyone who has experienced a loss in their life of any kind; whether it be the loss of a loved one, the loss of a dream or of faith in a good future. Through Bruised but Not Broken, Sheryl will encourage and equip you to ‘choose in’ to a life of purpose and hope.
Today, Sheryl is a dynamic worship leader and songwriter at her home church; Capital Christian Center in Olympia, Washington, where she attends and serves with her husband Larry and son Mathew. Because of her passionate drive to inspire, she is also a mentor and small group leader investing in the growth and development of all generations of God’s daughters. To date, Sheryl has used her story to influence thousands, and because she knows God never wastes a difficult season, she hopes it will also begin the process of healing for you.
